The window might be of a different size if you have a scale factor on one of your monitor that isn't 100%. I doubt that you will need to have a bigger window for the overlay anyway.
So in order to avoid any confusion about if my program works or if the window is too small I forced the size of its window. So the window needs to be at least 769*433 and it takes into account the scale factor of each display. Does it have dimensions of at least 769*433 pixels ?.The way Discord detects if it will display its overlay on a window depends of 2 factors : The current RGB color of the background is 46, 49, 54. You'd have a disgusting green under the overlay that you couldn't make disappear. I get that it's not easy to chroma key that color but if there was a green background it would look awful as the Discord's overlay is partially transparent. With this solution you only need to set it up once and that's it. It means that if you move to another room/server you need to recreate another link. The link it generates works only for the specific room of the specific server you targeted.
The people behind Streamkit clearly never really used it.
#DISCORD OVERLAY WINDOWS#
If you happen to know something like that, or would be able to make a simple program that does that, I would greatly appreciate.A DirectX 11 window for Windows to host Discord's Overlay in order to capture and display it with OBS.īased on the idea of Discord Overlay Host I made an updated version as it wasn't updated in 5 years and accumulated a lot of issues. If you happen to know something like that, or would be able to make a simple program that does that, I would greatly appreciate. Turn that overlay off then back on then turn the main overlay on and off. Force restart discord, then manually add the game you are playing. It seems to me that a fake window of sorts would be the solution. 24k trippin1y25 Oct 1:22PMNotification PreferencesEmail Me Notify MeEmail MeNotify Me0Forum ActionsReport Post.
#DISCORD OVERLAY INSTALL#
When you open the overlay webpage, youll see the choice to install the overlay for obs: Clicking install will let the overlay access your discord client and control certain aspects of it.
By far the easiest way to show you and your friends voice chat on your stream. I've tried toying around with the virtual camera in OBS, I've tried using an output window, and quite a few other potential workarounds. Within discord go to user settings game activity add it select discord overlay. If it did exist, I'm having a lot of trouble finding it. Problem is, I don't think there's even any program like that anywhere, at least not to my knowledge.
I had an idea earlier about some kind of DirectX window that captures the entire screen with audio, then I could screenshare that window, which would be a perfect workaround. My goal is to find a way to share my entire screen with audio, as that hasn't been added yet to Discord, even though it's been a feature with Skype for many years now. My GPU is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 680, currently I'm looking for a program somewhat like the one you've made here that will open window kind of thing that tricks Discord into thinking it's game, when it's not. Howdy, so I just downloaded the program and it immediately closes when I try running it.
